  1. So, to be brief, we use the Serial library to connect to the port and "listen" to the Arduino or whatever device is plugged into it. I still don't see why we need VPython instead of the traditional IDLE though. Maybe it will be cleared up in future lessons.

  2. please help needed.

    Traceback (most recent call last):
    File "Untitled", line 3
    arduinoSerialData = serial.Serial["com3",9600]
    TypeError: 'ABCMeta' object has no attribute '__getitem__'

    what should i do?????

  3. THIS IS THE CODE:

    import serial
    arduinoSerialData=serial.Serial('com4',9600)

    while(1):
    if(arduinoSerialData.inWaiting()>0):
    myData=arduinoSerialData.readLine()
    print myData

    I AM ALWAYS GETTING THIS ERROR:

    Traceback (most recent call last):
    File "C:Python27Libsite-packagesvisualexamplesard_python_4.py", line 3
    arduinoSerialData=serial.Serial('com4',9600)
    AttributeError: 'module' object has no attribute 'Serial'

    CAN ANYONE PLEASE HELP ME OUT WITH THIS??

  4. Sir your all lessons are so much awesome. Its encourage me to learn arduino.
    Sir please also record and upload lessons regarding basic electronics transistor, FET, MosFET, Different types of ICs and its related projects, and how to circuit design. Thanks

  5. Belive it or not in Australia, in the early ninteen sixties when I was in Primary School, I was taught to count seconds as………
    One Mississippi, Two Mississippi, Three Mississippi, ect.

    Way over in Sydney, Australia!

    By the way, I love your video's. I especially like your "space launches" where you involve the wide range of developing talents of your students and involve all of them.
    I wish that I had a teacher like YOU, when I was in high school. What you are doing is VERY impressive!
    Your students are very fortunate, and, are developing exceptionally!
    I have been watching for years. Well done!

    Best wishes.

  6. i had some error as follows

    self.open()
    File "C:Python27libsite-packagesserialserialwin32.py", line 66, in open
    raise SerialException("could not open port %r: %r" % (self.portstr, ctypes.WinError()))
    SerialException: could not open port 'COM3': WindowsError(5, 'Access is denied.')

  7. This is amazing Paul. We can do some really cool stuff this way. I loved the way you walked us through this tutorial, hits the brain just watching for the first time. I liked the way you are exited to see PC getting the date from Arduino !! Yes it's a big thing and really really cool
