Learn how to deploy your Ruby on Rails 4.1 application to a Ubuntu 14.04 server. I show you how to deploy your application to the server we configured earlier using Capistrano 3. The application stack is postgres, nginx, and unicorn.

This is the third part of a three series where we show you how to deploy Ruby on Rails to your own server.

  1. I don't know how many times I've had to configure a server from scratch. Is there a way to store a servers configuration and quickly bring new servers up to that same level? Say I installed lamp and added firewall rules. There must be some tool I can use that would allow me to copy that Configuration to a new server. (Like putting the entire Linux file structure under version control)

  2. when doing deploy I get:

    Command: /etc/init.d/unicorn_SuperGasReporter restart
    DEBUG [2da4e07f] Couldn't reload, starting 'cd /home/deploy/SuperGasReporter/current; bundle exec unicorn -D -c /home/deploy/SuperGasReporter/current/config/unicorn.rb -E production' instead
[2da4e07f] Your Ruby version is 1.9.3, but your Gemfile specified 2.2.2

but I have 2.2.2 in both the server and my machine, I dont even have 1.9.3 in either of those
